Raw materials and laboratory glassware during formulation

Science & Development

It all starts with a formula

Development turns a commercial idea into a viable formula: which actives, at what dosage, in which matrix and in which format.

Development and formulation

What makes a formula viable

Before manufacturing, we define what the product must do. Development translates a commercial objective into a viable formula: actives, dosage, matrix and format.

It can start from an idea, a functional objective, or an existing formula that needs to be technically adapted to a production process.

  • Definition of the functional objective and product profile
  • Ingredient selection and matrix compatibility
  • Prototypes and adjustments to format, flavor or presentation
  • Technical validation before scaling to production

Methodology

Six development stages

A structured process that reduces risk before investing in production.

Technical brief

We define the functional objective, audience, target format and product positioning.

Research

Review of active ingredients, technical references and concept viability.

Formulation

Formula proposal: actives, dosage, excipients and matrix compatibility.

Prototype

Physical sample to assess format, appearance and consumer experience.

Iteration

Adjustments to flavor, texture, size or presentation until the objective is met.

Validation

Technical and commercial approval of the prototype before scaling to production.

Science applied to development

A formula is not a list of ingredients

Development evaluates the formula from its technical and manufacturing viability, not only from the concept. The same combination of actives can work on paper and still not be producible consistently.

That is why scientific knowledge informs every decision: which ingredients, in what proportion, in which matrix and under what conditions the product stays stable and can be manufactured repeatably.

  1. 01

    Ingredient selection

Origin, quality and function of every component in the formula.

  2. 02

    Compatibility between components

Interactions between actives, excipients and matrix.

  3. 03

    Concentration per serving

Amount of each component in the declared serving.

  4. 04

    Stability

How the product behaves over its intended shelf life.

  5. 05

    Physicochemical characteristics

Properties that determine appearance, texture and performance.

  6. 06

    Manufacturing viability

Whether the formula can be produced consistently in the plant.

  7. 07

    Final presentation

Format, packaging and experience of the finished product.

Raw materials

What we work with

Every project defines its own inputs. These are the raw material families we can work with, subject to technical review and availability.

  • Proteins
  • Amino acids
  • Fibers
  • Botanical extracts
  • Vitamins
  • Minerals
  • Functional ingredients
  • Phytonutrients
  • Prebiotics
  • Probiotics
  • Other nutraceutical components

Where we stand

We are not only a manufacturer. We are part of the development.

We do not limit ourselves to manufacturing a formula provided by the client. Our team has the technical capability to develop it, evaluate it, optimize it and take it from concept to an industrially viable finished product.

Two routes

From scratch or from an existing formula

If the project starts from a concept, we build the complete formula based on the functional objective.

If a formula already exists, we assess it technically and adapt it to the corresponding format and manufacturing process.

  • Full development: concept, actives, dosage and format
  • Technical adaptation of client-owned formulas
  • Compatibility review between ingredients and matrix
  • Definition of the most suitable format for the product

Note on technical information

Details on analytical equipment, stability testing, development lead times and regulatory scope are shared during the technical review of each project.
